Attended Service

 

The Attended Service allows family members to navigate along with the Captain to the final resting spot and bid farewell to their loved one. Family members can conduct a short service before disseminating the ashes. Rose petals will be provided.

 

Up to six passengers can be accommodated per voyage. If you wish to have more than six passengers, please contact me. Due to the ever-changing conditions in the Atlantic Ocean, this service is not always available, and flexibility is needed when booking. Safety and comfort are paramount.

 

At the conclusion of the service, a Certificate of Maritime Burial will be provided by Eternal Drift. The certificate will state the date, time, latitude and longitude of the final resting place of your loved one’s ashes.

The cost is $550.

Captain’s Service (Unattended)

​

Often families cannot venture out to sea or do not have the means to attend the offshore ceremony. The Captain’s Service brings your loved one’s cremated remains on an ocean voyage on your behalf, concluding with a dignified sea scattering of ashes. The ashes will be surrounded by rose petals and the ceremony will end with a short poem or prayer if desired. Digital photos of the ceremony will be provided.

At the conclusion of the service, a Certificate of Maritime Burial will be provided by Eternal Drift. The certificate will state the date, time, latitude and longitude of the final resting place of your loved one’s ashes.

The cremains can be shipped to Eternal Drift via the U.S. Postal Service with a return receipt requested. For the USPS link explaining guidelines, click below:

If an Authorization Form has not already been submitted, please include it in the box when you ship the cremains, along with a check or money order made out to Eternal Drift. Click Authorization Form to download, or select the tab at the top of the page.

The family will be notified ahead of time to let them know the actual date of the scattering. This date is subject to change due to the ever-changing weather and sea conditions.
